Charlee Laurewyn was born in 1972 in Sweden. She was brought up in a home filled with traditional country music with her father working as a professional musician playing and singing country music and a mother who sang opera in her younger years.

Even at an early age, Charlee proved to be very musical, expressive and having a true love for singing. Her first influence in music was Elvis Presley whose appearance glued her in front of the TV as a three-year-old. Since nine years of age, she took clarinet lessons which she continued to do for seven years. Later on, she also took silver flute lesson.

At age twelve, she auditioned for a music class and was accepted. During the coming three years, her voice developed greatly and she started dreaming of a singing career. In time, she came to be heavily influenced by Tammy Wynette, early Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Steve Earle. During her school years, she performed in many school shows up until the age of nineteen.

After school, Charlee continued to sing even more actively, although merely at the side of her other professions as a dental-nurse and switchboard operator. During these years, she performed as a guest vocalist at pubs, festivals and clubs with different bands, including her father's. At the same time, she played her father's guitar off and on and on occasion sang and played at talent contests.

In 1994, she won a competition which led to a radio interview on Radio Stockholm.

Wherever Charlee sang, she was highly praised for her clear, personal and unique voice with great intonation and ability to present country music in such a traditional and genuine way.

The forthcoming years, Charlee's music career was, however, held back by life circumstances and academic studies in Education, English and Old Scandinavian History, which put her singing plans on temporary hold. When she met her fiancé, the current drummer in her band, she was able to start building the kind of serious singing career that she had wanted for so long.

With her special voice, the determination of keeping the simplicity and purity of traditional country music, a great deal of willpower, sensitivity and creativity as driving forces, Charlee Laurewyn has set her mind on making her way into country music.
